The Riverton Area Fire Protection District hosts its first open house and safety fair from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 10, at 710 Riverton Road, according to the department’s event listing, which NewsChannel 20 also highlighted. Expect free food, demonstrations and community classes.

Kids’ activities include a bounce house, goodie bags and prizes, a “Be a Firefighter” experience and a Touch-A-Truck event — a good Fire Prevention Week outing to meet local firefighters.
