Sirens and hazmat suits at the Fairgrounds Wednesday? It’s a drill
Illinois State Police will hold a large, multi-agency training exercise at the Illinois State Fairgrounds (801 E. Sangamon Ave.) from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 7, NewsChannel 20 reports.
Neighbors may hear loud noises and sirens and see dozens of responders, vehicles, hazmat suits and tactical gear. ISP says there is no real threat, and routine police and fire service will not be affected.
