Fire beat West-leading Whitecaps 3–1, climb to fourth in the East

Chicago Fire FC beat the Vancouver Whitecaps 3–1 Tuesday night at Soldier Field in a makeup match, the club reports — its second straight win. Jonathan Bamba scored in the 9th minute and Philip Zinckernagel in the 50th; after Mathías Laborda headed one in for Vancouver in the 73rd, Maren Haile-Selassie sealed it in the 88th off a Robert Lewandowski pass.

The Fire (13–8–6, 45 points) jumped Charlotte into fourth in the Eastern Conference. Vancouver (50 points) remains three points clear atop the West with seven matches left, the Whitecaps said.
