Off-duty cop fired two guns at once in Little Village shooting, COPA says
An off-duty Chicago police officer fired “two firearms simultaneously” during a shooting that wounded a person in Little Village early Sunday, the Civilian Office of Police Accountability said Tuesday, the Sun-Times reports. COPA said the officer exchanged words with a group around 12:45 a.m. in the 2600 block of West 24th Street, fired multiple times, then drove to the 2300 block of South Rockwell, got out and fired more shots toward the scene of the argument.
A male was shot twice and taken to Mount Sinai in fair condition; police first called him an “offender” who struck the officer, a detail COPA did not repeat. He was taken into custody but released without charges. A second male hurt his arm.
